For the first time, the company has launched several Full High Definition (HD) models (40-inch and above) in these series. As per the company communique, the new Bravia V and S series models offer new and improved features — Bravia Engine 2, intelligent picture and MPEG noise reduction.
The new Bravia W, V and S series are based on Sony’s “Draw the Line” concept - designs inspired by the horizon where beautiful images float above it, the company further claims. Commenting on the launch, Masaru Tamagawa, MD, Sony India, said, “Recent world trends demand screens with an extensive color gamut for true representation of images. Bravia’s wide color gamut LCD screens expand the range of displayable colors while setting new benchmarks for image quality, usability and performance. Sony continues to be a forerunner in the LCD television market by delivering more Full High Definition models that feature cutting-edge technologies such as Bravia Engine 2 and Intelligent Picture.”
Sony Bravia Full High Definition range has been expanded to a total of 10 line ups. With a display resolution of 1920 x 1080, each LCD TV delivers over 2-million pixels to display images with unparalleled details.
The Bravia Engine 2 is a fully digital picture enhancement engine that leverages Sony’s advanced algorithms to portray vibrant, crisp images that remain true-to-life. When combined with Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer, MPEG noise reduction and intelligent picture, the Bravia V and S series deliver noise-free images with perfect contrast, allowing for spectacular images that are sharp and vibrant every single time.
The new Bravia V and S series are equipped with Bravia Sync technology and three HDMI input outlets for hassle-free connectivity with entertainment devices like Sony Handycam, Blu-ray disc or DVD players and home theatre systems.
